Privacy Policy
Last updated:
GBPilot operates a local SEO and Google Business Profile management service available at gbpilot.io (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
By using the Service you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and authentication identifiers provided through Google Sign-In.
Google user data
When you connect your Google Business Profile (GBP) account, we access data through Google APIs to provide the Service. See the dedicated “Google User Data” section below for the full list and our Limited Use commitments.
Billing information
If you purchase a paid plan, payment is processed by our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers on our servers; we retain only limited billing metadata (plan, status, last four digits, invoices).
Usage data
We collect log data, device and browser information, IP address, and product analytics about how you interact with the Service.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, preferences, and analytics.
Communications
Records of your support requests and correspondence with us.
2. How we use information
We use information to: provide and operate the Service; connect to and manage your GBP listings on your instruction; generate AI-assisted content (review replies, descriptions, posts) at your request; process payments; send service and security notices; provide support; analyze and improve the Service; and comply with legal obligations.
3. Google User Data
This section governs all data accessed through Google APIs and forms part of this Policy. See /google-api-disclosure for the standalone version.
What we access (only with your authorization)
- Your Google Business Profile account and location/profile details (business name, address, hours, categories, attributes, description, contact info).
- Reviews and ratings on your profiles, and the ability to post replies you create or approve.
- Posts and media you create or schedule through the Service.
- Performance and insights metrics for your profiles.
- Questions and answers on your profiles.
- Basic Google account identifiers (name, email) used for sign-in.
Limited Use commitment
GBPilot’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- We use Google user data only to provide and improve user-facing features of the Service.
- We do not transfer or sell Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide or improve the Service, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger/acquisition with appropriate notice.
- We do not use Google user data for advertising.
- We do not allow humans to read Google user data unless: (a) you give explicit consent for specific data; (b) it is necessary for security purposes (e.g. investigating abuse); (c) to comply with applicable law; or (d) the data is aggregated and anonymized and used for internal operations.
AI processing of Google data
To generate review replies, descriptions, and post content, relevant text (e.g. review content, business details) is sent to our AI providers solely to produce that output. We instruct our AI providers not to train models on this data. AI-generated replies are editable and are only published with your action.
Revoking access
You can disconnect GBPilot from your Google account at any time via your Google Account permissions page or by deleting your GBPilot account. On revocation we stop accessing new data and delete stored Google user data per the retention section below.
4. How we share information
We share information only with: service providers / sub-processors who help us run the Service (hosting, payments, analytics, AI, email) under contract; third-party directories when you choose to build citations; authorities when required by law; and acquirers in a business transfer. We do not sell personal data.
5. Data retention
We retain account and Google user data for as long as your account is active. After account deletion or access revocation, we delete or anonymize associated personal and Google user data within 30 days, except where we must retain it for legal, tax, or security reasons.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (encryption in transit, access controls, least-privilege access, and periodic security reviews) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your rights
Depending on your location you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object or withdraw consent. To exercise these, contact support@gbpilot.io. Users in the European Union and United Kingdom have rights under the GDPR; California users under the CCPA/CPRA.
8. International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses) for such transfers.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to anyone under 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes
We may update this Policy. Material changes will be notified via the Service or email. The “Last updated” date reflects the latest version.
